Although there are many potato dishes, they are never baked, as a lot of homes do not have ovens.&nbsp; What it is, however, is a simple, tasty dish that has enough reminiscence of its namesake to be acceptable in my view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll need approx. 200g of cooked tatties per person.&nbsp; The waxy style tatties are best, but any you have leftover will do.&nbsp; I confess, I always make extra Sunday lunch potatoes, so we have leftovers to use for something in the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the ingredients list seems long, it\u2019s merely a case of assembling the spices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cooked leftover potatoes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1tsp brown mustard seed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1tsp fennel seeds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1tsp nigella seeds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp cumin seeds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp fenugreek<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp turmeric<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp chilli powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp ground black pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tbspn tomato puree<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tbspn oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Put the oil in a roomy bowl and add the tomato puree and whisk in.&nbsp; Add all the other spices and stir together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it won\u2019t seem like much mixture, it will coat enough potatoes for 4 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the potatoes to the bowl and move around gently \u2013 so you don\u2019t break them up too much \u2013 to thoroughly coat in the spice mixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place on a baking tray and cook in a pre-heated oven at 200\/180 Fan\/Gas\u00a0\u00a0 for 20 \u2013 25 minutes or until starting to brown and crisp a little on the edges.
